Scotland and Wales have banned companies based in tax havens from accessing coronavirus bailout grants, so we took a look at the number of businesses potentially affected by this, and how many could be affected if England and Northern Ireland were to do the same. While in Scotland and Wales, 1,274 companies have parents registered in a tax haven, in England and Northern Ireland 28,218 companies could potentially be banned from accessing grants in England if they were to bring in similar regulations. Will England do the same to tackle the companies avoiding paying tax?
